Current Crushes: Hilarious Books

newest crush

Here at PopLush, we fall in love hard and fast for brands with attitude and good origin stories. We love sharing our current crushes with you so that you too can find your new favorites.

This month's list is all about hilarious books. We currently have a thing for:

Jackaby series by William Ritter

"Sherlock Holmes meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is how one the Chicago Tribune reviewed the first book but we can't help but see the 10th Doctor in this series. If you like fantastical creatures, detective work, and a strong female protagonist, you'll love this YA series. Check out Jackaby!

Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames

We may have already praised this book but it's so good we'll list it again. Kings of the Wyld melds high fantasy and aging rocker culture. The boys are back in town as this band of monster-hunting mercs gets back together to save the frontman's daughter from an entire army of monsters.

Pantheon - The True Story of the Egyptian Deities by Hamish Steele

It's as if the creators of The Simpsons wrote Pantheon - The True Story of the Egyptian Deities. Witty and crude humor balance out in this hilarious origin story of how the pharaohs came to rule ancient Egypt. Bonus points for being surprisingly accurate in its telling of one of many origin myths.
